The Member of Parliament for Salaga South has called for renewed efforts to safeguard the welfare of children and ensure they have access to quality education, healthcare, and a supportive environment to thrive.
Speaking in commemoration of Children’s Day, the lawmaker emphasized the important role children play in the country’s development, describing them as the future leaders whose growth and well-being must remain a national priority.
The MP stressed the need for government institutions, parents, community leaders, and other stakeholders to work together to address challenges affecting children, including child labour, teenage pregnancy, and increasing school dropout rates.
According to the MP, investing in children today is essential to building a stronger and more prosperous nation, adding that every child deserves equal opportunities to develop their talents and achieve their full potential.
The legislator further reiterated a commitment to supporting educational development within the Salaga South Constituency through the provision of teaching and learning materials and advocacy for improved school infrastructure, particularly in underserved communities.
“Children deserve to grow up in environments that are safe, supportive and conducive to learning. We must continue to create opportunities that allow them to succeed and contribute meaningfully to national development,” the MP stated.
The MP also urged parents and guardians to take active interest in the education and upbringing of their children, noting that strong family support remains critical to their academic and personal development.
