The Techiman Market Day Care School has honoured its founding members for their outstanding contributions to the growth and development of the institution during its graduation ceremony held in Techiman.
The colourful ceremony, which was chaired by the Techiman Acheamehemaa, Nana Faa Asuama Yeboah, brought together parents, teachers, traditional leaders, old students and invited guests to celebrate the achievements of the graduating learners.
The event featured a variety of co-curricular performances by the pupils, including poetry recitals, drama, cultural displays and other educational activities that showcased their talents, confidence and creativity.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Proprietor of the school, Mrs. Dorcas Kwartemaa, paid tribute to the school’s founders, describing them as visionaries whose sacrifices laid the foundation for the institution’s success.
“The founding members of this school have laid a solid foundation, and we are truly grateful for their dedication and sacrifices. It is now the responsibility of the new management to build upon that legacy and take the school to even greater heights.”
As part of the ceremony, the school honoured its founding members, Dr. Prof. Steven Ameyaw, Mrs. Elizabeth Arthur, popularly known as Adwenehemaa, Nana Abena Kyeremaa, and Nana Afia Yeboah, for their remarkable contributions to the establishment and growth of the school.
According to Mrs. Kwartemaa, the current management assumed responsibility for the school in 2018 and has since worked tirelessly with the support of staff to improve academic standards and expand the institution.
“The new management took over the administration of the school in 2018. Through the dedication and hard work of our staff, the school has continued to grow and make significant progress. We remain committed to preserving and building upon the vision of our founding members, and we promise to continue their legacy of excellence for generations to come.”
Addressing the media, one of the school’s founding members, Mrs. Elizabeth Arthur, the Techiman Adwenehemaa, expressed appreciation to the current management for recognizing the efforts of the pioneers of the institution.
She used the occasion to thank her family and loved ones for their regular support and encouragement.
‘I am deeply grateful to Almighty God for making this day possible. I am delighted to witness the growth and success of this school, which has only been possible through God’s grace and abundant mercies.
”I would like to take this opportunity to express my profound appreciation to all the teachers and headteachers who have contributed immensely to the growth and development of this school. I am also sincerely grateful to my family for their unwavering support and encouragement. I could not have come this far without them.”
She encouraged the management to remain committed to the vision upon which the school was established and continue providing quality education to future generations.
Chairperson of the event, Nana Faa Asuama Yeboah, commended the management, teachers and parents for their dedication to nurturing the children. She urged parents to continue partnering with the school to ensure the holistic development of their wards.
”Parents play a vital role in shaping the lives of their children. They also have a responsibility to support the school by paying tuition fees on time and providing textbooks and other learning materials to enhance their children’s education. ”I encourage parents to visit the school regularly and enquire about the academic progress of their children. Such involvement motivates learners to take their education seriously and strive for excellence.
The ceremony ended with the presentation of certificates to the graduating learners and awards to deserving pupils and the honoured founding members.
