The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the Dormaa Central Municipality, Dominic Adoma Ameyaw, has assured residents of Aboabo and other communities within the municipality that government will address their deplorable road networks before the end of the NDC administration’s four-year mandate.
According to the MCE, the rehabilitation and construction of key roads, including the Tronang-Gambia road, remain a major priority, stressing that efforts are being made to ensure residents benefit from improved road infrastructure.
Speaking in an interview with GIFTs FM News, Hon. Dominic Adoma Ameyaw said the commitment to fix the Kyeremasu-Tronang-Gambia road was further reinforced during President John Dramani Mahama’s visit to the Bono Region.
He explained that he, together with the Member of Parliament for the area and the Dormaahene, engaged the President at the Jubilee House, where the need to improve the road network was discussed, with assurances that the project would be completed within his four-year term.
The MCE, who is a native of Aboabo, said he has a personal attachment to the concerns of residents and remains committed to ensuring the long-awaited road project becomes a reality.
He noted that the completion of the road will not only improve transportation and economic activities in the area but also bring relief to residents who have endured challenges associated with the poor condition of the road.
Meanwhile, Hon. Dominic Adoma Ameyaw has announced that a new engine has been secured for the Dormaa Ahenkro ambulance, which had been grounded for more than six months due to engine failure.
Touching on the situation of the damaged fire tender, the MCE explained that repeated repair attempts have failed to provide a lasting solution, forcing the Assembly to temporarily rely on its water bowser to support the Ghana National Fire Service while the tender was being fixed.
He disclosed that after another repair, the fire tender broke down again, leading the Assembly to discontinue further maintenance works on the vehicle.
The MCE added that the Assembly has returned the water bowser to the Fire Service and is currently engaging government to secure a new fire tender to enhance emergency response operations in the municipality.
