Construction work on the new Salaga Islamic Junior High School is expected to commence soon following the official handing over of the project site to Macwest Construction.
The project, which is being funded by the Mineral Development Fund (MDF), is aimed at improving educational infrastructure in the Salaga South area and creating a more conducive learning environment for students.
At a brief handing-over ceremony, the contractor assured stakeholders that the project would be completed within six months, stressing their commitment to delivering quality work within the scheduled timeframe.
The event brought together officials from the East Gonja Municipal Directorate of Education, the East Gonja Municipal Chief Executive, traditional authorities, opinion leaders, community members and party supporters.
Residents and community leaders used the occasion to express appreciation to Hon. Hajia Zuwera Mohammed Ibrahimah and Dr. Callistus Mahama for facilitating the project after years of appeals from members of the community.
According to the residents, the construction of the new school is expected to improve access to quality education for children in the area while helping to address challenges associated with inadequate classroom infrastructure.
They noted that the project would also contribute to the development of the community by creating a better environment for teaching and learning.
With preparatory works now completed and the site officially handed over, construction is expected to begin immediately.
