Black Stars head coach Carlos Queiroz has bid an emotional farewell to Ghana, expressing pride in the progress made during his time with the national team while urging the country to focus on building a stronger foundation for the future of Ghanaian football.
In a message addressed to Ghanaians, Queiroz said football, like life, teaches that “you either win or you learn,” stressing that every achievement should inspire greater ambition rather than complacency.
The experienced Portuguese coach noted that although the Black Stars made significant progress during his tenure, there was still more to accomplish. He said he leaves with satisfaction over what was achieved but also with the desire to see the team reach even greater heights in the years ahead.

According to him, the future success of the Black Stars will depend not only on performances on the pitch but also on creating the right environment to prepare, protect and develop Ghana’s football talent.
“The future of the Black Stars will not be built only on the pitch. Black Stars’ success must start off the field by creating the best possible environment to prepare, protect and develop Ghana’s extraordinary football talent,” he stated.
Queiroz expressed appreciation to the leadership of the Ghana Football Association for the opportunity to serve as head coach of the senior national team, describing it as both an honour and a privilege to work for Ghana.
He also thanked his players and technical staff for their courage, commitment and unwavering dedication throughout the journey.
Addressing supporters of the Black Stars, the former coach acknowledged that while the team may not have achieved complete sporting satisfaction, they succeeded in restoring respect and credibility to Ghana on football’s biggest stage.
He concluded his message by thanking Ghanaians for their support and expressing optimism about the future, saying, “Thank you, Ghana. The journey starts now. To the future.”
