The Oforikrom Traditional Area on Sunday, 21st June, 2026, held a colorful outdooring ceremony for Nana Ameyaa I, as Akyempemhemaa, Nana Ameyaw Krompe I, as Akyempemhene, and Nana Yeboah Asiamah I, as Akyempem Abusuapanin.
The ceremony, held under the leadership of Okogyeaman Kese Basahyia II and Nana Akyia Sakyera Abanaba, brought together chiefs, queen mothers, and residents who gathered to witness the formal introduction of the newly enstooled leaders.
Speaking to the media, the newly enstooled Oforikrom Akyempemhemaa, Nana Ameyaa I, expressed gratitude to the chiefs of the Oforikrom Traditional Area for honoring them and welcoming them into the council. She advised the youth to desist from all forms of social vices and illicit drug use, urging them to focus on education and skills training.
“We are grateful to all the chiefs in the Oforikrom Traditional Area for honouring us and inviting us into the Oforikrom Traditional Council. My advice to the youth is to desist from all forms of social vices and the intake of illicit drugs, and to focus on education or skills training. I am into skills training, and my doors are open to anyone who wishes to learn in order to improve their future.”
The Akyempemhene, Nana Ameyaw Krompe I, also expressed appreciation to the chiefs and people of Oforikrom and reiterated the commitment of the Akyempem Royal Family to support the development of the traditional area.
He stressed on openness and accountability, adding that they remain accessible to the people. He stated: “Our doors are and will remain widely open to everyone in Oforikrom. I would like to plead with all of us, including the indigenes of Oforikrom, to approach us whenever they observe anything wrong in our leadership. I believe that with the support of the Oforikrom Traditional Council and the good people of Oforikrom, we can develop Oforikrom to the level we all desire.”
The Krontihene of the Oforikrom Traditional Area, Nana Ayiso Donyina, who chaired the ceremony on behalf of Okogyeaman Kese Basahyia II, reiterated the need for unity and support for the newly established Akyempem stool. He conveyed the chief’s message that the stool is newly created within the traditional area and must be supported by all indigenes and the Dadease Royal Family to ensure its success.
“Okogyeaman Kese Basahyia II has asked me to relay to the Dadease Royal Family and the people of Oforikrom that the Akyempem Royal Stool is a newly established stool within the Oforikrom Traditional Area. Therefore, the Dadease Royal Family and the indigenes of Oforikrom should support it in all ways possible to ensure the success of its reign.”
He further stated that all nicknames associated with the newly enstooled Akyempemhene and Akyempemhemaa have ceased to exist and must be disregarded, while also explained that their elevation is based on good conduct and should serve as motivation for all indigenes of Oforikrom and surrounding communities.
“Okogyeaman Kese Basahyia II calls for total unity and togetherness among the Dadease Royal Family. He also stated that all nicknames associated with the newly enstooled Akyempemhene and Akyempemhemaa have ceased to exist from this day onwards, and we should all take note of that.
“Okogyeaman Kese Basahyia II also emphasized that the newly enstooled Akyempemhene and Akyempemhemaa are true indigenes of Oforikrom, and their elevation is due to their good conduct. This should serve as a lesson and motivation to all indigenes of Oforikrom and surrounding communities.”
