The Director-General of the Ghana Prisons Service, Mrs. Patience Baffoe-Bonnie (Esq.), joined dignitaries at the 2026 National Development Conference organized by the Church of Pentecost at the Pentecost Convention Centre (PCC) in Gomoa Fetteh.
The event focused on advancing national development through moral leadership and ethical values.During his goodwill address, the Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Hon. Ahmed Ibrahim, underscored the need to strengthen the role of traditional leaders, noting that empowering them would enhance their contribution to Ghana’s development agenda.
Speaking on behalf of the Vice President, Dr. Johnson Asiamah Ofosu Ampofo stressed that genuine national progress goes beyond economic achievements and infrastructure development. He observed that the growth of any nation is ultimately determined by the moral character and conscience of its citizens.
The Speaker of Parliament, Rt. Hon. Alban Sumana Kingsford Bagbin, described the gathering as a timely appeal for ethical leadership and responsible citizenship, saying that moral vision remains essential for achieving sustainable national development.
Addressing participants, the Chief Justice, His Lordship Justice Paul Baffoe-Bonnie, stated that although the rule of law is fundamental to governance, enduring national progress can only be realized when citizens embrace integrity, accountability and moral responsibility.
The conference concluded with a renewed commitment by the Church of Pentecost to champion moral transformation and contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s sustainable development.
