Engineer Sampson Amponsah, an aspirant for the Bono Regional Treasurer position of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), has pledged to establish sustainable revenue-generating businesses to strengthen the party’s finances and support its activities.
He said the proposed initiative would involve setting up barbering shops, washing bays and printing presses across the region and its constituencies to generate independent income for the party.
Engineer Amponsah explained that the businesses would not only provide alternative sources of funding but also create employment opportunities for NDC youth in the Bono Region.
He said the initiative was aimed at reducing the party’s dependence on financial contributions from the Regional Chairman and other executives whenever funds were needed to organise party activities.
According to him, establishing sustainable revenue streams would ensure the party had adequate resources to support its programmes and strengthen its operations at the regional and constituency levels.
Engineer Amponsah, who is number three on the ballot for the regional treasurer position, is seeking the support of delegates to become the next Bono Regional Treasurer of the NDC.
He pledged to prioritise financial sustainability and introduce innovative measures to improve the party’s financial management if elected.
