Josephine Lawal strengthens grassroots women mobilization in Greater Accra - grassroots

Josephine Cornelius Lawal, Greater Accra Regional Deputy Women Organizer, is positioning herself as a grassroots advocate for women’s participation in politics and community development through her Beyond Promises campaign.

The campaign emphasises grassroots engagement, women’s empowerment and practical support for women across communities, with a focus on strengthening their participation in party organisation and development initiatives.

Ms Lawal’s approach centres on engaging market women, young women and mothers through community visits, listening engagements and mobilisation activities aimed at building confidence and encouraging active participation in political and social development.

Under the Beyond Promises initiative, she is advocating a shift from political assurances to practical engagement, particularly in strengthening the women’s wing and encouraging women to take up leadership responsibilities.

Her campaign also seeks to transform women’s wing meetings into platforms for meaningful action, mobilisation and renewed participation, while addressing apathy among grassroots members.

Described by her campaign as loyal, hardworking and accessible, Ms Lawal is promoting a leadership approach that prioritises presence, empowerment and results over promises.

The Beyond Promises message reflects her commitment to strengthening women’s political participation and building a more active and responsive grassroots women’s movement in Greater Accra.

With the campaign’s emphasis on practical engagement and empowerment, Josephine Cornelius Lawal is advancing a leadership message anchored in the belief that women’s progress strengthens party organisation and contributes to broader community development.
