Kintampo Community Bank has handed over a mechanised borehole fitted with a 10,000-litre water storage tank to the Koramoa community in the Techiman South Municipality of the Bono East Region to improve access to clean drinking water.
The project forms part of the bank’s corporate social responsibility initiatives aimed at improving living conditions and supporting essential social amenities in communities.
Speaking at the handover ceremony, the Deputy C.E.O of the bank, Benjamin Ofosu Okyere said the bank remained committed to supporting communities, schools and hospitals as part of its efforts to improve people’s lives.

“As part of our corporate social responsibility, we give back to society to improve the lives of people in the communities we serve. We have been supporting schools, hospitals and communities in various ways,” he said.
He explained that Koramoa was selected to benefit from the intervention to provide residents with clean drinking water and improve their health.
“We have selected Koramoa to benefit from a mechanised borehole fitted with a 10,000-litre water storage tank to provide the people with clean drinking water and improve their health,” he added.

Mr Ofosu Okyere further disclosed that the bank would, on Friday, October 30, 2026, donate chairs to Kintampo Senior High School and bags of cement to support the construction of facilities for the proposed Kintampo Military Barracks.
“In addition, on Friday, October 30, 2026, we will donate chairs to Kintampo Senior High School and bags of cement to support the construction of facilities for the proposed Kintampo Military Barracks.” He stated
The Techiman Akwamuhemaa, Nana Faah Adomako Ameyaa, commended the bank for the intervention, describing the provision of the borehole as timely because of the importance of water to human survival and public health.

“We are very grateful to Kintampo Community Bank for its generosity. One can go for about three days without food, but surviving even a day without water is very difficult because water is life. The provision of this mechanised borehole is, therefore, very timely,” she disclosed.
She said the provision of clean drinking water would help protect residents against waterborne diseases and improve their general health.
“The clean water supply will help prevent waterborne diseases. On behalf of the Nana Akwamuhene, the Akwamu Royal Family and the Techiman Traditional Council, I express our profound gratitude to the board, management and entire staff of Kintampo Community Bank,” Nana Faah Adomako Ameyaa said.

She also urged residents to patronise the bank’s services by opening accounts, noting that the institution’s support for community development was made possible partly through the patronage of its customers.
“I would also like to use this opportunity to urge the people of Koramoa to patronise the services of Kintampo Community Bank by opening accounts with the bank. What we are witnessing today is a result of people patronising the bank’s services, and it is only prudent for the people of Koramoa to support the bank in the same way,” she added.
The Vice Chairman of the Board of Kintampo Community Bank, Ophelia Opoku, urged residents to take good care of the borehole and its associated facilities to ensure that the project serves the community for years.

She said proper maintenance and responsible use of the facility would protect the bank’s investment and help sustain access to clean drinking water for residents.
Madam Opoku further encouraged community members to take ownership of the project, explaining that maintaining the facility would demonstrate their commitment to development and could motivate the bank to extend similar support to the community in the future.
