Personnel of the 1 Garrison of the Ghana Armed Forces have held a Mid-Year Thanksgiving Religious Parade to express gratitude to God for His protection, guidance and faithfulness throughout the first half of 2026.
The thanksgiving service, held on Sunday, July 19, 2026, at the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC) at Michel Camp, was on the theme, “Pause, Reflect and Thank God for His Faithfulness.” It brought together officers, ratings, Defence Civilian Staff and their families from the various units under the Garrison.
The event provided an opportunity for personnel to reflect on their achievements and challenges over the past six months while thanking God for His continued guidance in the discharge of their duties and their personal lives.
Delivering the sermon, Chaplain Rev. Canon Frank Anyagre urged military personnel to cultivate the habit of reflection despite the demanding nature of their profession. He encouraged them to remain steadfast in their faith and continually acknowledge God’s faithfulness in sustaining them through operational responsibilities and personal experiences.
Addressing the gathering, the 1 Garrison Commander and Flag Officer Commanding, Eastern Naval Command, Commodore Solomon Asiedu-Larbi, praised officers, ratings and Defence Civilian Staff for their unwavering commitment, discipline and professionalism in the performance of their duties.
He further encouraged personnel to uphold the core values of the Ghana Armed Forces by maintaining the highest standards of integrity, loyalty and discipline both during official duties and in their personal lives, stressing that these values remain essential to the professionalism and image of the military.
The thanksgiving parade formed part of activities aimed at strengthening the spiritual well-being of personnel while reinforcing unity, resilience and dedication to national service.
