The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) will launch its 2026 Customer Service Week in Techiman on Monday, October 19, with the Director-General, Deputy Director-General and other senior management members expected to attend the event.
The launch, scheduled to take place at New Melcom, opposite Gyako School in Techiman, is expected to focus on public education and efforts to encourage more workers, particularly those in the informal sector, to enrol in the pension scheme.
Speaking in an interview with Classic FM, the Sunyani Area Manager of SSNIT, Mr. Alex Appiah, said the Customer Service Week would provide an opportunity for the Trust to engage directly with residents and educate them on the benefits of joining the scheme.
He said SSNIT branches across the country would take to the streets of their respective communities to interact with residents and raise awareness of the importance of pension coverage.
“During the Customer Service Week, SSNIT branches across the country will storm the streets of their respective communities and have in-depth interactions with residents on the need for them to enrol in the scheme and the benefits of joining SSNIT,” Mr. Appiah said.
He added that the presence of senior management, including the Director-General and Deputy Director-General, in Techiman for the launch would form part of the activities marking the national celebration.
The public engagements are expected to provide residents with information on enrolment and the benefits of contributing towards their retirement through SSNIT.
The initiative also forms part of efforts to deepen public understanding of social security and encourage more eligible workers, especially those in the informal sector, to make provisions for their retirement.
SSNIT continues to undertake public education activities to improve awareness of pension benefits and encourage eligible workers to participate in the scheme.
