Chelsea-bound winger Geovany Tcherno Quenda has expressed confidence ahead of his highly-anticipated move to the Premier League, insisting he is fully prepared to begin life at Stamford Bridge after already spending time with members of the Chelsea squad.
The highly-rated Portuguese youngster, who is set to join Chelsea from Sporting CP in the summer of 2026, said he has already built a connection with several of his future teammates and believes the club has the quality to recover from recent struggles.
“I’m already prepared, I’ve already been with my teammates, I’m ready,” Quenda said in comments circulating across Portuguese and football media platforms.
The 18-year-old winger also revealed that he remained close to the Chelsea squad during difficult moments last season and is optimistic about the future of the team under the club’s ongoing rebuilding project.
“I was with them during the poor run. They have a good group, we’ll be able to turn things around.” He said.
Quenda further disclosed that fellow Portuguese international Pedro Neto has already offered him guidance and advice ahead of the move to England, with the pair recently meeting at Portugal’s City of Football training complex.
“On Pedro Neto, I was with him recently at the City of Football and he gave me advice and tips.” Quenda stated.
Chelsea reached an agreement with Sporting CP earlier this year for the transfer of the talented winger in a deal reportedly worth more than €45 million, with Quenda expected to officially join the Blues after continuing his development in Portugal for another season.
The teenager has emerged as one of the brightest young talents in European football following a series of impressive performances for Sporting CP. His pace, dribbling ability and attacking versatility have attracted widespread praise, with several top European clubs previously linked with his signature before Chelsea secured the deal.
Quenda’s comments are likely to excite Chelsea supporters, particularly as the London club continues its long-term strategy of investing in highly-rated young talents from across Europe.
Chelsea have in recent seasons strengthened their squad with several young players including Cole Palmer, Estevao Willian, Kendry Paez and Andrey Santos as the club looks to build a competitive team for the future.
